Hello, I’m

PHILIP N. DEATHERAGE,

Esq., BAS, MELP, LL.M, M2, JD

I am many things: a father, traveler, entrepreneur, amateur chef, griller, runner, web developer, business consultant, lawyer,  serial amateur . . .

Father

With everything I’ve accomplished, experienced, and everywhere I’ve gone, nothing matches up to being the father to my two amazing teenagers. I live to inspire and help them become successful in every area of life.

Business Consultant

With more than 25 years of experience, I help small businesses harness the power of e-commerce and help individuals realize their dreams of entrepreneurship. It’s work I love.

Web Developer

At the age of 12, I taught myself to code and design, within a few years, I was working on early e-commerce systems such as osCommerce and expanding to Magento, WooCommerce, and custom development.

Traveler

At the age of 5, I knew I wanted to travel the world. This strong desire to explore, experience culture and our world, has only grown. I’ve only visited 32 countries so far, and have inspired others, including my children with the love of travel!

LawYER

My interest in law and politics started as a teenager working in politics and led to studying law as an adult in 7 countries. I’ve graduated with four degrees (U.S. and France), and have been admitted to the bar in the United States.

Published

I write about business, law, and technology among other things. I run a blog on my web development and business consulting site, and I’ve been published in an international law journal.

Amateur Chef

I’ve always been fascinated by the ideas of what makes a tasty dish. I love experimenting and fine-tuning my skills – whether it be chicken alfredo, sushi, or a tasty steak or brisket off the grill.

Entrepreneur

My first business venture was at age twelve and then started three more companies by the time I turned sixteen. I soon realized I enjoyed helping others start their own businesses, including my kids.

Griller

Partly because of looking for better health, and partly to take my skills to a higher level, I started radically grilling a year ago. It has become another passion of mine – one that my kids and friends are very happy about.

Runner

In early 2020 I knew I needed to make a change. Stress and a bad diet had led me to a place I didn’t want to be. I started running (or a 15-mile hike or bike ride) – and while I love it, it’s not without struggles or setbacks at times.
